FAQ

General Information

Indian hair is highly prized in the global hair industry due to its versatility, durability, and unique texture. It naturally comes in a range of textures such as straight, silky, wavy, and curly, offering ideal options for various styling and installation needs. The naturally dark color makes Indian hair a perfect choice for braiding and weaving, especially for women of color. Its strength and adaptability also allow it to be lightened into shades of dark, medium, and light blonde, making it equally suitable for the Caucasian market.

The primary source of Indian Remy hair is select temples in South India, where women of the Hindu faith offer their long, beautiful hair as part of a traditional religious practice in gratitude for answered prayers. Temple authorities collect this hair and auction it to buyers, with the proceeds being used for charitable causes. Non-Remy hair, on the other hand, comes from comb waste collected from households across India and contributes to 50% of the world’s human hair market.

Product Information

Virgin hair refers to hair that has never undergone any chemical treatments, making it 100% natural. This ensures that the cuticles remain undamaged and intact.

Remy hair is characterized by the alignment of the hair strands in their natural growth pattern, meaning all strands run in the same direction from root to tip. It is considered the highest grade of human hair available and typically comes from a single donor.

Single Drawn hair retains its natural taper at the tips, with lengths graded on one side. For instance, when you purchase a bundle labeled as 16″ – 19″, it will primarily consist of hair strands ranging from 16″ to 19″, with no strands shorter than 5″.

Double Drawn hair contains only strands of the same length, achieved through a meticulous hand-tying process without the use of machines.

Bulk hair is loose hair that is bundled together and serves as the foundational product for creating various hair extensions and products.
Wefting refers to the method of sewing hair strands together in a straight line, which is essential for making extensions.

Hand-tied wefts are created by manually tying strands of hair around a durable weaving thread, while machine wefts are produced by sewing strands of hair together using a sewing machine. Machine wefts can be categorized as double machine weft or single machine weft, sometimes referred to as thin weft or light weft.

Hand-tied wefts are crafted to specific lengths according to client preferences and should not be cut to prevent shedding. Machine wefts can be cut, but it is crucial to re-glue the edges to maintain their integrity. It’s advisable to consult a professional for assistance.

Yes, our 100% virgin human hair can be colored. However, if you order from our range of Looks Exports International colors or purchase enhanced curl options, we advise against further coloring for optimal results.

Treat this hair like your own. Use any high-quality shampoo and conditioner, and avoid heavy chemicals to maintain its natural health. You can also use our specially formulated shampoo and conditioner. Please ask our client servicing team for a free sample product kit to be included with your hair order. Request a quote for separate shipping.

Our 100% pure virgin Remy hair can last a very long time, depending on how well you maintain it. Treat it like your own hair, and with good care, it will last even longer.

Products from our Brushed Textures range can be brushed or combed. However, to retain the enhanced curl pattern of the Styled Textures, do not brush or comb the hair. Gently cleanse it with a mild shampoo and apply conditioner to maintain the look. If you thoroughly brush the hair, it will result in a different curly (puffy) appearance. After washing with conditioner, it may regain much of its enhanced structure, but the curl pattern will differ.

Using a wig brush or comb, gently brush through your Looks Exports wig. Wash your wig after wearing it 20-25 times. Rinse the wig in cold water, ensuring the water flows in the same direction as the hair to avoid tangling. Do not soak it in a basin. Use your fingertips to apply a mild shampoo evenly throughout the hair, rinsing with cold water flowing in the same direction to remove the shampoo. Remove excess water by gently patting with a towel—do not wring or squeeze. Condition the wig with a wig conditioner, applying it evenly with your fingertips. Rinse thoroughly with cold water to remove the conditioner and avoid buildup. To remove excess water, pat gently with a soft towel; do not squeeze or wring. Allow your Looks Exports wig to air dry on a folding wig stand.
